You met Ruff on the Brilliant Lady Virgin Voyages Alaska Cruise 🐾
Well hello there.
If you’re reading this, something interesting just happened.
You tapped your phone to my hand and ended up here.
Yes, the chip is real.
And yes, most people check their phone and then stare at my hand for a second before believing it.
Welcome to Ruff’s little corner of the internet.
Ruff at Sea
While Atlanta is my home base, I spend a lot of time traveling between communities, airports, pup events, and the occasional international adventure.
This week, though, I’m somewhere between glaciers, mountains, and questionable life decisions aboard the Brilliant Lady sailing through Alaska.
If you met me on this cruise, there’s a good chance I was:
- wandering the ship meeting new people
- hiding tiny corgi figures around the ship for people to discover
- dancing in The Manor with my tail wagging
- sitting in a hammock somewhere enjoying the view
- explaining how the chip works
- or letting someone scan my hand just to watch their reaction
So why does my hand scan?
Because meeting someone should be memorable.
You just scanned one of the NFC implants in my hand. Your phone briefly powered the chip and it sent you here.
No batteries.
No tracking.
Just a tiny piece of tech and a fun way to connect.
And honestly, it’s a pretty good conversation starter.
If we met on board
I’m really glad you said hello.
One of the things I love most about travel is how easy it is to meet people from completely different places and backgrounds. A random conversation on a ship can turn into a friendship, a shared adventure, or a story you’ll still be telling months from now.
Moments like this are part of that.
One last thing
If you see me again somewhere on board, come say hi.
Whether we’re watching glaciers, hunting for hidden corgis, dancing in The Manor, or simply crossing paths around the ship, I’m always happy to meet new people.
And if someone asks how you got my contact info on a cruise ship…
You already know the answer. 🐾
