Biography

You met Ruff at Kink Down South 🐾

If you’re reading this, something fun just happened.

You tapped your phone to my hand and now you’re here.

Yes, the chip is real.

And yes, that moment where people look back and forth between my hand and their phone never gets old.

Welcome to Kink Down South and Gear Night.

🐾 I’m currently running for Georgia Pup 2026.

What is Kink Down South?

Kink Down South is a celebration of gear, education, connection, and the incredible variety of people who make up our community.

It’s a place where leather, rubber, pups, handlers, makers, educators, and curious newcomers all come together to share space, learn from each other, and celebrate what makes us unique.

You’ll see things like:

  • incredible gear and self-expression
  • people discovering new parts of themselves
  • conversations between longtime community members and first-time attendees
  • education, demos, and shared knowledge
  • a whole lot of laughter, connection, and probably some corgi chaos

Whether you arrived fully geared up or you are just starting to explore, you belong here.

And if you scanned my hand today, congratulations, you just unlocked the Ruff easter egg.

What is Gear Night?

Gear Night is one of my favorite reminders that gear is not just about what we wear.

It’s about the stories behind it.

A hood, a harness, a vest, a suit, a collar, or any other piece of gear can represent confidence, creativity, identity, community, or simply something that makes you smile when you put it on.

Some people have been building their identity for years.

Some people are trying something new for the very first time.

Both belong.

Everyone starts somewhere.

Who is Ruff?

Ruff is the chaos corgi behind ruffthe.dog.

Part pup, part traveler, part educator, and part curious human who enjoys blurring the line between technology, identity, and connection.

You’ll usually find me:

  • running around pup and gear events in Atlanta
  • traveling between communities like London, Montreal, and Sydney
  • teaching classes about kink safety, gear, rope, electro play, and pup culture
  • mentoring and encouraging newcomers
  • building weird little tech experiments like the one you just experienced

A big part of why I teach and show up in these spaces is because I remember what it felt like to be new.

Walking into your first event can feel intimidating, especially when everyone else looks like they already know exactly where they fit.

The secret?

Most of us were figuring it out too.

Why the chip?

Because you’re never going to forget meeting someone whose contact info lives in their hand.

The chip you scanned is an NFC implant. Your phone briefly powered it, and it sent you here.

No battery.
No tracking.
No secret underground corgi command network.

Just a tiny piece of tech and a very effective conversation starter.

Every tap represents a moment of connection.

And communities are built one interaction at a time.

One more thing

If this is your first Kink Down South, Gear Night, or community event, welcome.

Seriously.

Whether you showed up in full gear, brought a suitcase of options, borrowed something from a friend, or are simply looking around wondering where you fit, you’re welcome here.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

Ask questions.

Meet people.

Be curious.

Find what makes you feel like yourself.

And if you see a giant chaos corgi wandering around, come say hi.

If someone asks how you got my info today, you already know what to tell them.

“I scanned his hand.” 🐾
